Landscape Lighting – LED 101

Landscape lighting is the creation of a lighting effect and can have many purposes ranging from security and safety to aesthetics.

Your property can be illuminated in many different ways: trees can come alive by uplights; walkways and patios can be seen by path lights; and buildings, gardens & shrubbery can be illuminated to create safe and secure environments.

So what type of lighting should you use? Halogen or LED?

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. LED lamps are compact, solid-state light sources that efficiently emits light.

So what does it mean to you? Compared to the standard bulb or halogen light, LED lights are:
– Smaller in size
– Perform well in cold temperatures
– Consume less energy
– Are proven to be more durable and reliable
– Last longer
– Do not emit dangerous UV rays
– Simply brighter

By using less power to emit the same amount of light as a halogen or incandescent lamp, low – voltage LEDs help you to save money and energy.

This summer, enjoy your garden and landscape as darkness falls!
